È una bellissima riedizione dell'Album che fu pubblicato nel 1867 dalla Società Vini-cola della Tokaj-Hegyalja, sotto l'egida del suo presidente, il barone Vay Miklos.
Lo scopo della Società Vinicola era quello di fare conoscere le belle terre dell'Ungheria dove nasceva il Tokaj. Il libro fu allora stampato in edizione poliglotta dove i testi erano pubblicati in ungherese, tedesco, francese e inglese. Oggi possiamo percorrere nuovamente quelle eleganti pagine ottocentesche.
La Tokaj Hegyalja viene descritta attraverso la sue città, i piccoli paesi, i paesaggi montani, i laghi, i fiumi. Oltre agli aspetti geografici vengono presi metodicamente in esame gli aspetti climatici, geologici, botanici, le risorse economiche. Naturalmente uno spazio importante è riservato alla viticoltura, agli accorgimenti della vinificazione che portano a ottenere la pregiata essenczia, l'aszubòr, lo szamorodni. Il testo conserva anche alcune suggestive stampe in bianco e nero che rievocano i sereni paesaggi ungheresi.
L'iniziativa di Tokaj Renaissance e Phare di ripubblicare l'Album, consente di attingere ad un pregevole insieme di testimonianze storiche, di ritrovare il passato di questo celebre vino d'Ungheria, scoprendo gli aspetti della sua grande personalità e le radici del suo nuovo crescente successo. This is a beautiful new edition of the Album published in 1867 by the Wine Association of Tokaj-Hegyalja, under the aegis of its president, baron Vay Miklos.
The purpose of the Wine Association was to promote the beautiful lands of Hungary where Tokay was cultivated. The book was then printed in a multilingual edition with texts published in Hungarian, German, French and English. Today we can again leaf through those elegant XIX-century pages.
The Tokaj Hegyalja region is here described through its towns, villages and mountain scenery, its lakes and rivers. Besides the geographical aspects, the climatic, geological and botanic aspects are examined in detail as well as the economic resources. Considerable attention is paid, needless to say, to vine growing, to vinification techniques responsible for the production of the valuable essenczia, aszubòr, szamorodni. The Album still has a few suggestive black and white prints of peaceful Hungarian landscapes
Tokaj Renaissance and Phare initiative to publish the Album again allows puts at our disposal a collection of historical testimonies through which we can read the history of this famous Hungarian wine discovering the marks of its strong personality and the roots of its new, growing success.
